Geneva Tice Cherry

Mrs. Maury Geneva Tice Cherry, 85, former resident of Scribners Mill Road, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday after 4:00p.m.at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John A. Tice and Nannie Pearl Pinkleton Tice. She was married to Lee Roy Cherry who preceded her in death in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Culleoka Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Ray (Billie) Cherry of Columbia; three granddaughters, Sherry (Otis) Steele of Pulaski, Annette Cherry of Columbia, Michelle (Jeff) Sampson of Thompson's Station; three great-grandchildren, Trenton Parks, Ryan Sampson, Taylor Sampson; one sister, Lennie (Homer) Haskins of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Counts and eleven brothers and sisters. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Robert McArthur, Dr. Eslick Daniels, Larry Hubbell, Don Westmoreland, Burton Daimwood, Robert Owensby, Jr. and elders and deacons of Culleoka Church of Christ.
