Geneva Collier Mrs. Geneva Rodgers Collier, 77, retired employee of Bell South and resident of New Lewisburg Highway, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Collins officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 900 West 7th St., Columbia, Tennessee, 38401. She was a 1945 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Collier was a charter member of West End Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, sang for weddings, and taught the "Gleaners" Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Leon Collier of Columbia; daughter, Candace Collier of Columbia; son, Jeffrey Leon (Melodie) Collier of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Luke Collier and Andrew Collier; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell (Kenneth) Latta and Mrs. Margaret Loftin both of Columbia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roscoe Rodgers, John "Wink" Rodgers and five sisters, Lollie Speed, Selena Truelove, Mary Cook, Mildred Erwin and Evelyn Demastus. Pallbearers will be Tommy Bone, Bryan Bone, Tommy Cook, Mike King, Steven Latta, Luke Collier, Andrew Collier and Cliff Loftin. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons at West End Baptist Church, members of Telephone Pioneers of America, members of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at West End Baptist Church, members of Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, employees of NHC Home Health Services, Billy R. Overstreet, Raymond Sands, Jerry Price, Johnny Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Rodger Demastus, Tommy Speed, R.B. Sands, Wayne Hickman, Glenn Truelove, Hodge Cook, Matthew King and Kenny Latta.
