George William Riley

George William Riley, 89, retired Control Board Operator for Occidental Chemical Company, died Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his residence in Williamsport. A family graveside will be held at a later date at Campground Cemetery. Born March 24, 1932 in Maury County, he was the son of the late George Joseph Riley and the late Lessie Katherine Vandiver Riley. Mr. Riley served in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was known to be a jack of all trades. Mr. Riley was of Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Elaine (Don) Cannady of Columbia; Arlene Stokes of Culleoka; grandchildren, Justin Stokes, Jessica (Clint) Legg, Steven (Cassie) Cannady, Jacob (Jerri Ann) Cannady; eight great grandchildren; and special friend, Donna Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William Paul Riley.
