Mrs. Georgia Mae Cagle Gilliam, 92, retired bookkeeper for Derryberry's Drug Company and resident of 8th Avenue, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. David McGregor officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. For a number of years, Mrs. Gilliam taught at Columbia Business College and prepared personal income taxes in addition to keeping books for Derryberry Drug Company. She was first married to Justin Lee Wilsford who died June 21, 1941. In 1944, she married Jessie Earl Gilliam, who died May 15, 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Sara Wilsford (Wendell) Sims of Giles County and Linda Gilliam (Glen) Hicks of Duluth, Georgia; three sons, Jim (Kay Seaborn) Wilsford of Columbia, Jesse (Kathy Medders) Gilliam of Lawrenceburg and Steve (Julie Kirkwood) Gilliam of Owensboro, Kentucky; a step-daughter, Dorothy Wilsford (Herbert) Gilliam of Columbia; two step-sons, Tom Gilliam of Columbia and Jack Wilsford of Culleoka; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Johnson Wilsford of Huntsville, Alabama; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wilsford and a step-daughter, Mary Dorn. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
