Miss Georgia Lee Hargrove, 100, longtime resident of East 9th Street, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at Life Care Center.éFuneral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral with Elmer Lusk and Joe Macer officiating.éé Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.éé The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.éMemorials may be made to Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund, 1024 East Valley Dr., Columbia, TN, 38401.éé Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.éThe Maury County native was the daughter of the late Andrew Newton Hargrove and Lucy Mai Byrd Hargrove.éé She grew up in the Bigbyville Community and attended Mynders School.éé Miss Hargrove lovingly cared for her parents until their deaths and later cared for children in her home.é She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.éé On Sunday, October 19th of this year her family celebrated with her on her 100th birthday.éé "Aunt Georgia" was a special lady who will be greatly missed.éSurvivors include a niece, Ruth H. (Robert) Childress of Columbia; niece-in-law, Elizabeth Dillehay Hargrove of Columbia; nephew-in-law, Billy Ray Hardison of Columbia; great-nieces, Anita (Mike) Ervin, Dawn (Joe) Foster; great-nephews, Sonny (Cindy) Hargrove, James Edward (Jackie) Hargrove, Michael (Yolanda) Hardison, Tim (Tammy) Hardison, Jeff (Lisa) Hargrove, Scott (Rhonda) Hargrove, Kenny (Heather) Hargrove; over 20 great-great nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great niece; and one great-great-great nephew.éShe was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Kate Hargrove, Willie and Lethia Hargrove; two nephews, Jerry Hargrove and Charles E. Hargrove; one niece, Betty Faye Hargrove Hardison and one great-nephew, Billy Ray "Bubba" Hardison, Jr.éPallbearers will be great-nephews, Sonny Hargrove, James Edward Hargrove, Michael Hardison, Tim Hardison, Jeff Hargrove, Scott Hargrove, Kenny Hargrove, Joe R. Foster and Mike Ervin.éé Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Craig, Jack Childress, and the staff of Life Care Center.éé The family wishes to extend special thanks to the employees of Life Care Center and the Staff of the ASU Unit.
