Mrs. Georgia K. Mooningham Smith Moore, 83, retired employee of Morrow's Hatchery and resident of Highland Avenue, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Signature Health Care. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Carl May officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the daughter of the late John Mooningham and Kate Nelson Mooningham. Her first husband, Edwin Smith, preceded her in death in 1974 and on July 22, 1977, she married Charles B. Moore who also preceded her in death on July 11, 2008. Mrs. Moore had also worked at Dixie Manufacturing. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Thelma (Jerry) Holcomb of Columbia; four grandchildren, Shelia (Donald) Elrod, Todd Holcomb, Bethany (Stacey) Anderson, Scott Holcomb; one step grandchild whom she reared, Chucky Moore, Jr.; and seven great grandchildren, Christy Swenson, Brook Murphy, Lindsay Floyd, Justin Holcomb, Brandon Holcomb, Erin Holcomb, Morgan Anderson. She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Bridgett Floyd; a sister, Thelma Potts, and three brothers, James Mooningham, Eddie Mooningham, and William Mooningham. Pallbearers will be Todd Holcomb, Scott Holcomb, Jonathan Swenson, Chris Murphy, Stacey Anderson, and Don Elrod.
