Mr. Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Anderson, 70 , retired engineer for Union Carbide Corporation from 1967 to 1992 and resident of Camellia Drive, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Graymere Church of Christ with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Walker Cemetery in Henry County. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. A native of Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of the late Wayne Anderson and Alice Davis Anderson. In 1963, he graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a B.S. degree in engineering and served in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Anderson was a member and formerly served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Graymere Church of Christ. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, June Rushing Anderson of Columbia; a daughter, Allison (Pat) Patterson of Ooltewah; a son, Jonathan Wayne (Sharlene) Anderson of Columbia; a brother, Robert "Bob" (Jean) Anderson of Spring City; a grandchild, Kaitlyn Patterson of Oooltewah; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Gerald Howard, Chad Howard, Max Paschall, Johnny Paschall, Tommy Rushing, Claytus Wilson and Charles Rushing.
