View Video TributeGeralene Redden Morrison, 84, retired secretary at West Seventh Street Church of Christ and former longtime resident of North Laurel Circle, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at Lakeshore The Meadows in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. at West Seventh Street Church of Christ with Ted Burleson and David D. Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with Mike Kesler officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Healing Hands International, 455 McNally Drive, Nashville, TN 37211, West Seventh Church of Christ Building Fund, 405 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401, or World Christian Broadcasting, 605 Bradley Court, Franklin, TN 37067. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the daughter of the late Hollis T. Redden and Lura Redden Wade. She was married to Woodrow Harold Morrison who preceded her in death on July 25, 1986. She had formerly been employed as secretary at South Central Bell and First Farmers & Merchants Bank. Mrs. Morrison was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her sons, William Hollis Morrison of Franklin, Harold (Nancy) Morrison of Nashville, and Hayes (Sharon) Morrison of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, James (Erin) Morrison of Knoxville, Alan (Jennifer) Morrison of Nashville, Matt Morrison of Murfreesboro, Phillip (Nancy) Morrison of Olathe, Kansas, Amy Morrison of Nashville, and Rachael (Brian) Woodson of Mt. Juliet; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Morrison and step-father, William Clarence Wade. Active pallbearers will be James Morrison, Alan Morrison, Matt Morrison, Phillip Morrison, Grant Dillard, and Jerry Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Savage, Carter & Pat Hill, Travis & Janet Roberts, Beth Pigg, Daniel Pigg, Jeremy & Dianna Butt, Jerry & Pam Elder, Mike Kesler Sunday School Class, Joyce Allen, West Seventh Church of Christ Elders, Deacons, and Church Staff, Racine Wilder, members of Columbia Civitan Club, staff and volunteers at Lakeshore The Meadows, Dr. John Simmons, Dr. Joel Kochanski, Dr. Houston Jameson, and Dr. Stephen Parey.
