Gerline Brown Morrow Gibson, 88, former resident of Poplar Street, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wayne B. Hardison and Frank Wells officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. She attended Cedar Hill Church of Christ for a number of years and was retired from Burt's Dress Shop. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and loved fishing. She was married September 16, 1939 to Willard Brown Gibson who died January 13, 1991. Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Sue (Bill) Fly of Williamsport and Sandra (Phil) Lindsey of Columbia; sister, Betty Morrow Fleming of Columbia; grandchildren, Cindy (Tommy) Hutcherson of Williamsport, Vicki (Quintin) Walline of Monument, Colorado, Mary Gale (Nathan) Johns and Terri Carol (Boo) Gordon, both of Williamsport, Tommy (Amanda)Fly, Eddie (Andrea) Alderson, Julie (Rickey) Savage, Mike (Amy) Lindsey, and Taura Gibson, all of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Glenn Hutcherson, Mark Hutcherson, Suzi Bratton, Bobby Bratton, William Fly, Madi Fly, Jenna Fly, Rebekah Gordon, Alex Savage, Caylea Savage, Ashlyn Lindsey, Elizabeth Mosley, Katlyn Mosley, Terry Wayne Gibson Dugger; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Timothy Morrow Gibson and Terry Wayne Gibson; sisters, Louise Morrow Elliott and Willie Mae Morrow Hines; brother, William Anderson "Bill" Morrow; and son-in-law, Charles Edward Alderson.
