Gilbert Green

William Gilbert Green, 63, employee of Maury Farmers Co-op and resident of Tanyard Hollow Road, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Rush officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery with military honors. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. The Williamson County native was the son of the late Reuben Green and Hazel Sullivan Green. He served in the U. S. Army from 1966 - 1968. He was a member of Mooresville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Helen Beard Green of Culleoka; one daughter, Angie (Steve) Jones of Culleoka; five sisters, Jean Powell of Baxter; Earlene Jones of Primm Springs; Betty (Bill) Pridy of Columbia; Ruth (Johnny) Robertson of Bellevue; Judy Green of Smyrna; two brothers, Lloyd Green of Primm Springs; Cecil (Rachel) Green of Joelton; two grandchildren, Dakota Jones and Tanner Jones, both of Culleoka; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph & Jennie Mae Beard of Santa Fe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Stewart; and two brothers, Cloyd Green and Prentice Green. Pallbearers will be Tommy Beard, Bill Pridy, Jerry Green, Bud Richardson, Windell Westmoreland, Barney Cannady, Richard Callahan, and Jimmy Alcorn. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers at Maury Farmers Co-op and men of Mooresville Baptist Church.
