View Funeral WebcastGladys Leoma McKee DeLancey, 90, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her residence at Poplar Estates Assisted Living. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Greg DeLancey, Eddie Miller and Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born February 8, 1927 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dallas McKee and the late Annie Mai Baker McKee. On October 14, 1950, she married Vincent Edgar DeLancey who preceded her in death March 5, 2004. She was a 1945 graduate of Lewis County High School and attended Columbia Business College. She worked for Flat Rock Community Schools as a secretary and Flat Rock Church of Christ. She loved to read, journal and was an avid walker. Mrs. DeLancey was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ and a former member of Ladies Home Demonstration Club in Henderson, Tennessee. Survivors include her children, Robert Gregory (Teresa) DeLancey of Murray, Kentucky; Sue DeLancey (Eddie) Miller of Santa Fe; sister, Norma Jean McKee of Columbia; grandchildren, Heather Michelle Bogard of Murray, Kentucky; Gregory Chadwicke (Erin) DeLancey of Murray, Kentucky; Jennifer Rebecca (Brian) Settle of Clarksville; Joshua Lee (Traci) Willoughby of Niceville, Florida; Benjamin Ross (Chelsea) Willoughby of Columbia; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Loraine Minor; Juanita Chestnut; and brothers, Floyd McKee; and Jesse McKee.Active pallbearers will be Joshua Willoughby, Benjamin Willoughby, Chad DeLancey, Braxton Bogard, Brian Settle, C.T. Johnson, and Hubert Cheek. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice Compassus and the staff of the Gardens at Poplar Estates.
