MRS. GLADYS JOHNSON Mrs. Gladys McAnally Johnson, 90, retired seamstress at Gordon's Dress Shop and Holloway's Dress Shop and resident of Wall Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, January 17, 2003, at Hidden Acres Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 -5:00 P.M. and Monday after 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Scott McAnally and Lula Mae Bell McAnally. She was married to Claude Martin Johnson who died December 28, 1993. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of Main Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Hemphill and Mrs. Doris (Allen) Savage, both of Columbia; Mrs. Marsha (Gary) Neilson of Knoxville; Mrs. Susan Coffman and Mrs. Bobbie Jones, both of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy (J. H.) Morgan of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Riston, Noble Savatte, and Ruth Prill; and five brothers, Farris McAnally, Henry McAnally, Herman McAnally, Hazel McAnally, and Paul McAnally. Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, David Ring, Roy Hutto, Gene Barker, Adam Coffman, Danny Hoskin, Tommy Hemphill, and Joey Norman. Honorary pallbearers will be elders of Main Street Church of Christ, employees of Hidden Acres Health Care, and Dr. Douglas Kennedy.
