Glenn Black Mr. Glenn Wright Black, Jr., 79, retired electrical engineer, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at his residence on General Roberts Drive. A memorial service will be conducted at 11a.m., Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Rhodes officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10 - 11a.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Stafford County, Virginia native was the son of the late Glenn W. Black, Sr. and Margaret F. Gilmartin Black. Following his retirement from Johnson Service Control Mr. Black later worked for several years at Lowe's in Columbia. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and attended the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Bonita Jean Albitz Black of Columbia; two sons, Rolland (Becky) Baker of West Milton, Ohio, Victor (Barbara) Baker of Pendelton, South Carolina; one sister, Jean Burke; six grandchildren, Bonita Findley, Victoria Parsons, Belinda Smothermon, Mike Nelson, Crystal Phillips, Dana Burnett; and ten great-grandchildren.
