Mr. Robert Glenn Duncan, 75, carpenter, retired employee of Maury County Department of Education, and resident of Old State Road in the Hampshire Community, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Columbia Care & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Vernon Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beech Hill Church of Christ, 1783 Highway 166 North, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Garfield Duncan and Macie Farris Duncan. He was first married to Katherine Dale Duncan who died July 13, 1988. On December 29, 1989, he married Thelma Lee Love Duncan who lives in Hampshire. Mr. Duncan was a member of Beech Hill Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one step-daughter, Glenda (Wendell) Potts of Columbia; two step-sons, Ernest L. (Nancy) Love and Larry Love, both of Hampshire; one sister, Annie Mae Brown of Hampshire; one brother, Cecil (Sarah) Duncan of Columbia; three step grandchildren, Chris Potts of Columbia; Casey Love of Summertown, and Jason Love of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and special friends, Eldridge "Snowball" Mayberry, Ricky Gibson, Donald Runions, Mack Whiteside, and Allen Arnold. Pallbearers will be William Thomas Lamar, Gene Ray Baxter, Bobby Lee Runions, Mike Pruitt, Paul Whiteside, and Blair Pogue. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Columbia Care & Rehabilitation North Wing.
