Glenn Douglas Mash, Sr., 80, resident of Kettle Mills Community in Hampshire, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Life Care Center of Columbia following an extended illness.A graveside prayer will be conducted Tuesday at 11:30 A.M. at Baxter Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born July 23, 1936 in Lewis County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Willis Mash and the late Mae Clay Mash. He was a 1955 graduate of Hampshire High School and was a retired farmer. Mr. Mash was a member of Southpoint Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, whom he married September 16, 1955, Alice Baxter Mash of Kettle Mills Community; children, Glen (Janie) Mash, Jr, Terry Gene Mash, Bridgett Mash (Kent) Romine all of Kettle Mills Community; granddaughters, Stephanie (David) Page, Jennifer (Jason) Johns, Glenda (Russell) Wages; and great grandchildren, Jed Page, Sadie Page, Jackson Johns, and Jonah Johns.He was preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Mae Skipper and Frances Bell; and brothers, Raymond Mash, Guy Mash, Newman Mash, and J.D. Mash. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
