Glenn Delton Nix, 80, retired fire fighter with the Columbia Fire Department for 22 years, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Maury Regional Transitional Care.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eric Swann officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with honors provided by the Columbia Fire Department. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Glenn was born on October 14, 1944 in Lewisburg, TN to the late Allen Grover Nix and the late Jesse Lee Tate Nix. He graduated from Marshall County High School and became one of the first EMT’s with the Maury County Ambulance Service. He along with his wife Wanda enjoyed camping at NACO and was a member of The Corvette Club and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelley Nix Hinson (Dale) of Hohenwald and Shannon Nix Masterson (Lee) of Franklin; five grandchildren, Colby Masterson (Angela), Parker Hardaway (Justin), Julianna Masterson, Corbin Davis (Jacob) and Chandler Hinson (Raelynne); one great grandchild Birdie Rae Davis; two sisters, Sandra Nix Crane (Robert) and Joan Nix Key; two sisters in law, Debbie Crowe Massey (John) of Columbia and Starling Crowe Swann (Doug) of Murfreesboro; several nieces and nephews including Ryan Massey (Angie), Corey Massey (Marisa), Eric Swann (Molly) and Bailey Rose (Will).

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Wanda Faye Crowe Nix on September 17, 2024.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Davis, Dale Hinson, Colby Masterson, Chandler Hinson, Corey Massey, Rod Ashmore. Honorary pallbearers will employees past and present of the Columbia Fire Department and the Maury County Ambulance Service.
