Gloria Ann Hendrix

View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Gloria Ann Wallace Hendrix, 69, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Destiny Church with Pastor Steven Morgan officiating. A burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home. Born May 20, 1951 in Columbia, Tennessee, Mrs. Hendrix was the daughter of the late Rayburn Rufus Wallace and the late Mary Etta Oliver Davis. In April of 1995, she married Tommy Hendrix, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2020. Mrs. Hendrix worked in shirt factories for many years and then went on to be a self-employed licensed caregiver for the last 15+ years. She was a member of Destiny church here in Columbia. Ms. Hendrix was the matriarch of a large, loving family who, along with her Destiny church family, she loved dearly. Ms. Hendrix loved her grandchildren above all else. Survivors include: Daughters, Amanda Lewis and Robin Osborne; Son, Harold Richardson, Jr., all of Columbia; Grandchildren, Lindsey (Adam) Johnson, Tiffany (Tyler) White, Devin Mitchell and Lauren Mitchell; Step-Children, Monica (Jeff) Wells and T.J. (Carol Ann) Hendrix, Step-Grandchildren, Peisley Hendrix and Hazes Hendrix; Great-grandchild, Gavin Mitchell; Siblings, Sherry Bates and Tammy Davis; Several nieces and nephews; Beloved pets: Marty, Lilly Bell and Blue. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by her grandparents, Murphy and Myrtle Oliver and Siblings, Dennis Davis, Mike Davis, Lou Ellen Miller and Jenny Wiseman. Active pallbearers will include: Michael Davis, Jr., Mitchell Davis, Mickey Davis, Lucas Davis, Jamie Thompson and Steve Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike Simmons, Jeff Fault, Dennis Butler, Chad Butler and Jeff Wells.
