View Funeral WebcastMrs. Grace M. Moritz Rakow, 96, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and Saturday from 10 until time of service at the church. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Herman Moritz and Meta Berg Moritz. She was married to Rev. Dr. Edgar C. Rakow who preceded her in death. She was a helpmate, supporter and very involved with her husband's ministry in the church. Since moving to Columbia she has been an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons, Don (Ursula) Rakow of Rockwall, Texas, Ken (Marlene) Rakow of Columbia; six grandchildren, Donald (Rhonda) Rakow, David (Amy) Rakow, Christina Rakow, Laura (Jay) Brothers, Jill (Kyle) Elkins, K.C. (Jessica) Rakow; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Moritz, Art Moritz; and two sisters, Viola Vogt and Ruth McCullough. Pallbearers will be Donald Rakow, David Rakow, K.C. Rakow, Jay Brothers, Kyle Elkins and Doug Holt.
