Gregory Neil Morris

Gregory Neil Morris, 57, resident of Fifth Avenue, died Saturday, February 1, 2020 unexpectedly at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnicols.com. Born June 10, 1962 in Maury County, he was the son of Betsy R. Campbell Williams and the late C.E. Morris. He was graduate of a 1981 Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia State Community College for two years. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed golf, baseball, football, and NASCAR. Mr. Morris loved music and playing the guitar. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter, Lindsey Renee Morris of Old Hickory; grandchildren, Lucy Rose Morris; Mason Morris; and step siblings, Kim Willis; Kara Williams; Dan Williams; and Doug Williams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Jane White. Active pallbearers will be Frank Ross Harmon, Brandon Harmon, Ben White, Nelson Lyles, Matthew Harrington, and Benton Alexander.
