Grover Beard

View Video Tribute Grover Beard, 86, resident of Beard Road in Primm Springs, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Signature Health Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Charles Hardison and Mike Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Garden Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Allen Jefferson Beard and Addie Bell White Beard. He married Noveline Slaughter Beard who preceded him in death March 19, 2006. Mr. Beard served in the United States Army. He was a self-employed dairyman and farmer and loved feeding his fish and turkey hunting. He served on the county ASCS Committee and on the Board of Maury County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Shoals Branch Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Milton (Donna) Beard of Santa Fe; daughter, Annette (George) Dodson of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Beard, Renee (Mack) Garvin, Greg (Deanna) Dodson, Lisa Dodson; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Beard, Justin Beard, Madison Garvin and Garrison Dodson. Pallbearers include Chris Beard, Greg Dodson, Mack Garvin, Ricky Hutcherson, Andy Dial and Marty Lockhart.
