Hala Mae Jane Daniel King

Hala Mae Jane Daniel King, 74, passed away Wednesday December 18th, 2019 at her home in Columbia. Mae, as she like to be called, was born January 11, 1945 to Charles and Lila Daniel in Fort Payne Alabama. She was the oldest of nine children. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Santa Fe Cemetery. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.   She was a daughter, sister, wife, momma, granny and great-granny. Mae married Marvin Anderson King on November 7th 1964. They remained happily married until his death in 2007. Mae was a server at Lucille’s Restaurant for almost 38 years and before that at the Columbian Restaurant. If she waited your table you definitely remembered her! In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Leon. She is survived and sorely missed by her children Margo Andrews of Santa Fe, Charles (Rita) King and Vance (Melissa) King both of Columbia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
