View Funeral WebcastMr. Hardin F. Voss, 94, retired from Union Carbide Corporation and resident of Voss Road in the Culleoka Community, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan and Corey Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The Maury County native was the last surviving of ten sons of Eugene Voss and Bessie Fox Voss. He was a 1935 graduate of Culleoka High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of America. Mr. Voss was a long-time member and Elder of Culleoka Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Edith Wilson Voss of Culleoka; sons, Terry Voss and Thomas H. (Sara Jane) Voss of Culleoka; grandsons, Kevin Thomas (Lisa) Voss of Santa Fe, Matthew Eugene Voss of Witchita Falls, Texas, and Michael Hardin Voss of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Logan Alise Voss of Witchita Falls, Texas and William Thomas Voss of Santa Fe; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers, Leslie Voss, Harold Voss, Dewey Voss, Chesley Voss, Clarence Voss, James Voss, Carl Voss, Cecil Voss, and William S. "Bill" Voss. Active pallbearers are Buddy Voss, Jimmy Voss, Carl Voss, Wayne Voss, Glenn Voss, and Roscoe Voss. Elders and Deacons of Culleoka Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
