Mr. Hardison Lee Thrasher, 87, retired supertintendent at T.W. Frierson Construction Co. and longtime resident of Bee Kerr Road, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Hueston Marshall and Ricky Clay officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Mount Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Luther Thrasher and Ida Gilliam Thrasher. He attended school at Bryant Station. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of Scribners Mill Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rachel Craig Thrasher of Columbia; three daughters, Mrs. Brenda Cox of Lebanon, Mrs. Patricia (Jerry) Vaughn of Lewisburg, Mrs. Nancy (Larry) Pigue of Mooresville; three sons, Lane (Peggy) Thrasher, Dennis (Ruth) Thrasher, Jim Thrasher all of Culleoka; ten grandchildren, Daryl Thrasher, Dianne Williams, Dawn Bradley, Bill Thrasher, Laura Parks, Lisa Kelley, Karen Pugh, Jennifer Hudgins, Keith Pigue and Brian Pigue; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Thrasher, Joe Thrasher, Clyde Thrasher, Otis Thrasher; two sisters, Edith Smith, Evelyn Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Misty Bradley and Colton Williams. Pallbearers will be Bill Thrasher, Daryl Thrasher, Keith Pigue, Brian Pigue, Danny Pugh, Steve Bradley, Mike Parks, Jason Kelley, Greg Hudgins and Leonard Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Taylor, Mike Taylor, Winston Hickman, former employees of T.W. Frierson Construction and Elders and Deacons of Scribners Mill Church of Christ.
