Mr. Harlan Enoch Williams, 90, retired dragline operator for Farmer Construction Company and Oman Brothers Construction Company and resident of Sowell Mill Pike, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Richard Benjamin Williams and Alberta Blalock Williams. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Northern France, the Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes, including the Battle of the Bulge. He earned the EAME Theatre Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars; American Theatre Ribbon; ADS Medal; Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Mr. Williams was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Margaret McMinn of Brentwood; a brother, James (Lois) Williams of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Williams Pilkinton and Mildred Ruth Williams Quirk Scott; and two brothers, Jerry Coleman Williams, Sr. and William Thomas "Bill" Williams. His nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Sam Andrews, Sam Wrather, Arthur Wentzel, Kenneth Riddle, Kenneth Peach, Dr. John Simmons, and Davin Bell.
