Mr. Harold Marshall Haywood, 72, self-employed electrician and resident of Greenview Drive, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert Lee Haywood and Mae Reaves Haywood. He served in the 11th Airborne Division and 101st Airborne Division of the U. S. Army during the Korean War period and was discharged October 13, 1954. Mr. Haywood was an avid fisherman and fully enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lucille Russell Haywood of Columbia; daughter, Kathy (Marvin) Emler of Culleoka; son, Hal (Billie Gaye) Haywood of Culleoka; sisters, Linda (Larry) Tomlin and Shirley Cooper of Columbia; brothers, Johnny (Doris) Haywood of Missouri and Mike (Gracie) Haywood of Columbia; grandchildren, Charity (Carlton) Baker, Chris Haywood, Jessica Emler and Victoria Haywood; great-grandchildren, Kanya Baker, Breanna Baker and C. J. Baker. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill "Sonny" Haywood, Clarence "Toodlem" Haywood and Bobby Joe Haywood, Sr. Active pallbearers are Chris Haywood, Bobby Joe Haywood Jeremy Haywood, Corey Cooper, Scott Cheatham and Tommy Stanfill. Honorary pallbearers include Hugh Orr, Howard Cheatham, Dr. John Worthman, Dr. Michael Richardson. The family wishes to express special thanks to the nurses in the Skilled Nursing Unit at Maury Regional Hospital.
