Mr. Harold Dean Hickman, 68, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of 6th Avenue, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Elmer Lusk, Joseph Wells and Joe Macer officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 1- 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund, 1024 East Valley Drive, Columbia, TN 38401. Hickman, Sr. He was the former owner/operator of Hickman Furniture. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Lorene Baker Hickman of Columbia; one son, DeWayne (Cindy) Hickman of Columbia; one daughter, Vickie (Tommy) Hayes of Columbia; five grandchildren, Brian Hayes, Trevor Hayes, Ashley Hickman, Ansley Hickman and Alec Hickman; two brothers, Jimmy (Helen) Hickman, J.B. Hickman, Jr.; and one sister, Linda (Jimmy) Rochelle. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rochelle, Robert Baker, Roy Andrews, James Deen, Tommy Underwood and John Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Dr. Roy Elam, retirees of Union Carbide, elders and deacons of East Side Church of Christ, and employees of Maury County Farm Bureau.
