Harry Van Massey

Mr. Harry Van Massey, 84, retired carpenter and resident of South Cross Bridges Road, died Thursday, January 30, 2003, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will be in Cross Bridges Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Marshall H. Massey and Lillie Mai Holt Massey. He was married to Martha Henson Massey who preceded him in death on November 8, 1999. Mr. Massey was a member of Cross Bridges Methodist Church. Survivors include one brother, M. H. ?Cotton? (Evelyn) Massey, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; nephews, Michael Massey, Ricky Massey, and Rodney Massey; great niece, Shelby Massey; great nephews, Alex Massey, Adam Massey, and Drew Massey; and special cousin, Sherrell Hickman. He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Massey. Pallbearers will be Rodney Massey, Sherman Massey, David Westmoreland, Ricky Massey, Drew Massey, and Adam Massey. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Cecil, men of Cross Bridges Community, employee of NHC Hillview, and faithful visitors Teresa Nichols and Martha Bassham.
