Harry D. Paulk, 94, resident of Columbia, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Savannah Cemetery in Hardin County. Visitation is from 4 - 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. The Hardin County native was the son of the late Laura and John Paulk. Mr. Paulk was employed by TVA where he worked at various projects including New Johnsonville Steam Plant, John Sevier Steam Plant, Widow's Creek Steam Plant, the Beech River Project in Lexington, Land Between the Lakes and the Normandy and Columbia Dam Projects. His wife of 59 years, Mamie Payne Paulk, preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Paulk Mobley of Columbia; sons, Richard (Marsha) Paulk of Columbia, John (Charlotte) Paulk of Lexington; grandchildren, Jason Paulk, Jay Mobley, Jeremiah Mobley, Laura Mobley; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Paulk in 1990.
