MRS. LANDON H. COFFEY Mrs. Hazel Thomason "Nana" Coffey, 78, retired from Whitworth's Jewelry in Mt. Pleasant and resident of the Pulaski Highway, died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Heritage Manor. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Jim Thomason officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late A. A. Thomason and Annis Overstreet Thomason and a member of the Church of Christ. July 22, 1940 she married Landon Harrison Coffey who preceded her in death April 9, 1997. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Donald Briggs of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Betsy Coffey of Knoxville; a granddaughter, Treisa Briggs of Columbia; four grandsons, Don Coffey, Jr. Chris (Katie) Coffey, James Coffey of Knoxville and Wayne Briggs of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Jake Coffey, Emma Coffey and Caroline Coffey, all of Knoxville; two sisters, Edith (Tom) Taylor of Athens, Georgia and Dorothy Ann Lyles of Youngsville, Louisiana; a brother, Robert (Dot) Thomason of Mt. Pleasant; sisters-in-law, Katherine Thomason of Bradenton, Florida and Mary Thomason of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sue Coffey; two brothers, Leonard Estel Thomason and Arthur A. Thomason, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Jim Lyles. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
