Mrs. Hazel Ingle Harmon, 96, retired school teacher and former resident of Frye Road, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Harmon who preceded her in death February 21, 1987. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Wendell (Ann) Harmon of Franklin, Ferris (Joann) Harmon of Bogart, Georgia, Kenneth (Barbara) Harmon of Nolensville; one sister, Dolly Mae Brooks of Alexandria, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Harmon Vaughn, three sisters and three brothers. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
