Hazel Marie McMillen Beddingfield

Hazel Marie McMillen Beddingfield, 88, retired receptionist for Dr. Clay R. Miller, former sales clerk for Piggly Wiggly  , and resident of Columbia, died Friday October 4, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wilson Henderson officiating. A graveside service will follow in Kirkland Cemetery in Lincoln County at 4:00 P.M. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 6, 1931 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Kirby McMillen and the late Alease Stephens McMillen. She graduated from Blanche High School in 1949 and on July 18, 1953, she married Samuel Jesse Beddingfield. She was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church, where she kept the nursery for close to 30 years.   She is survived by her husband, Samuel Jesse Beddingfield of Columbia; son, Ricky Ray (Penny) Beddingfield of Spring Hill; and great niece, Brittany (Chad) Barnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laurine Reese; and niece, Vandie Davis.
