Video Memories of Mr. Ezel MorelMr. Hazel Ezel Morel, 86, retired employee of Union Carbide and a longtime resident and farmer of the Sawdust Community, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the home of his daughter on Morel Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Herbert Albert Morel and Louella Dame Morel. He was married to Lucille Stofel Morel who preceded him in death in 1998. He was a 1938 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mr. Morel was a member of the Maury Farmers Association and a former member of the Maury County Historical Society. He was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Diane (William) Bishop and Mrs. Gail (Joseph) Bishop, both of the Sawdust Community; one sister, Winfrey Morel Willis of Nashville; six grandchildren, Stephanie Messer, Robert Robinson, William Robinson, Jeffrey Bishop, Christopher Bishop, Joey Bishop; eight great grandchildren, Michael Elam, Amanda McCorkle, Melissa Elam, Jimmy Messer, Hali Robinson, Kala Bishop, Kendall Bishop, Morgan Bishop; seven great great grandchildren, Taylor Messer, Patrick McCorkle, Shelby McCorkle, Abby McCorkle, Grace McCorkle, Tyler Elam, Macy Messer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Morel Bell; one brother, Herschel Morel; and one grandchild, Martin Eugene Bishop. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church and Dr. Gaylon Harris. Mr. Morel will be sadly missed by his family, friends and community.
