Mrs. Helen Green Bratton Burroughs, 71, retired seamstress, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at her residence on Ashwood Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Nick Green and Ethel Angus Green. On September 15, 1956 she married Norman Ray Bratton, Sr. who preceded her in death September 21, 1972. She was a former employee of Tennessee Knitting Mills and Dixie Manufacturing and retired from Robby's Products, Inc. Survivors include her son, Tim Bratton of Columbia; one sister, Juanita Gardner of Council Bluff, Iowa; one brother, William Thomas (Gracie) Green of Columbia; two grandchildren, Brianna Lee Bratton and Matt Bratton both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Ray Bratton, Jr., one granddaughter, Rianna Lynn Bratton, two sisters, Christine Mooningham and Reba Mencer and one brother, J.W. Green. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
