View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Helen Earlene Coburn Capell, 89, retired nurse for the TVA, died Friday, August 26, 2016 at her residence on Trilogy Lane in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Faith Hall at First Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Kimbrough and Brother Eddie Rogers officiating. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at Tricities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama with Pastor Mark Grigsby of Life Song Church officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 -5:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Senior Missions Fund, 2790 Pulaski Highway, Columbia, TN 38401 or Tri County Dental Society, to be contributed to WC Handy Dental Clinic, 301 West State Street, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 5, 1927 in Florence, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Louis Coburn and Ada Keaton Coburn. On June 27, 1952 she married James Herrin Capell who preceded her in death October 30, 2012. In 1949 she received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Helen enjoyed gardening, traveling, and playing bridge. She was member of First Family Baptist Church of Columbia, Tennessee. Survivors include her daughters, Tere Capell (Dr. Ben) Gardner of Mt. Pleasant; Jamine Capell Rogers, DMD of Sheffield, AL; grandchildren, Ryan Capell (Kristen) Gardner, Somers' Gardner, James Paul Rogers, Christopher (Mallori) Rogers, Jenifer Rogers; great grandson, Alex Rogers; and sister, Pat (Bill) Lewis.Active pallbearers will be Dr. Ben A. Gardner, Ryan Capell Gardner, James Paul Rogers, Christopher Evan Rogers, Mike Verble, Dallas Rankins. Honorary pallbearers include Doug Myers, Edgar Deason, Frank Bale, Robert Belt, Jim Dodd, Eddie Ables, John Uggla, Joe Kington, Jim England, Bill Gemmel, Billy Strickland, Will Moore.
