Helen Warden Hardaway

View Funeral Webcast Helen Warden Hardaway, 87, retired employee of Bell South and resident of Skelley Lane, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor John Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Hugh Warden and Pearl Gardner Warden. She was a 1947 graduate of Culleoka High School. She worked for Harvey's Department Store and Peebles for sixteen years. Mrs. Hardaway was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband whom she married September 12, 1953, Dudley B. Hardaway, Jr. of Columbia; niece, Julia Hammond of Columbia; nephews, Thomas Rickey Hammond and James Warden (Lisa) Hammond both of Columbia; great nephews, Jeremy Matthew (Courtney) Hammond of Edmund, OK, Roland Stephen Manley and Redford Hammond Manley both of Columbia; great nieces, Helen Grace Hammond and Gretta Synclair Hammond both of Columbia; great great niece, Charli Ann Hammond; and great great nephew, Bennett Hammond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Frances Hammond; and brother, William Charles Warden. Active pallbearers will be Brad Fisher, Charlie Hardaway, Bret Herrmann, Dan Kolstedt, Charles Bills, and Kelley Hardaway.
