Mrs. Helen Estelle Sullivan Jones, 92, long-time resident of Parsons Bend Road in the Sawdust Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Life Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Sherry Ladd officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2630 Santa Fe Pike, Santa Fe 38482. A native of the Leeville Community in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Turner Sullivan and Minnie Estelle Peach Sullivan and 1934 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. She was a member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church and former member of First Baptist Church in Columbia. Mrs. Jones loved her family dearly and was a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family, and in her spare time, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crocheting. Her last few years were spent at Life Care Center where she kept things lively by singing to her nurses and roommates. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Albert Jones of Sawdust; two daughters, Minynon Annette (Paul) Ledbetter of Mt. Juliet and Helen Kay (Jimmy) Humphrey of Sawdust; three sons, Albert Turner (Mary Jo) Jones of Sawdust, Walter Frank (Sissy) Jones of Williamsport, and John Yeiser (Sandra) Jones of Mt. Pleasant; twelve grandchildren, Draa (Tracey) Jones, Diane Jones, Helen (Mylen) Coble, Dennis (Liz) Beaver, Julie Buffington, Edie Ledbetter, Angie Ledbetter, Lee (Jaime) Jones, Sherryl (Michael) Henson, Andrew Jones, Heather Humphrey, and Shelley Humphrey; seventeen great-grandchildren, Jason Jones, Casey Jones, Ashley Jones, Lauren McKennon, Lucy McKennon, Katelyn Coble, Hope Coble, Jacob Beaver, Tyler Beaver, Taylor Beaver, Tiffany Woody, Taylor Burton, Kayla Jones, Zackery Jones, Matthew Jones, Nathan Henson, and Devyn Henson; a great-great-grandchild, Hunter Springer. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Sullivan Fisher and Hazel Marie Sullivan. Active pallbearers are James Toungette, Michael Dodson, Draa Jones, Mylen Coble, John Lee Jones, Byron White, Jason Jones, Dennis Beaver, George Ladd, and Kent Woody. Honorary pallbearers include Martha and Kenneth Scott, members of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and staff of Life Care Center and the Alzheimer's Unit.
