View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Helen Faye Gibson Reed, 66, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at her residence on Thomas Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango and Rev. Brandon Stutts officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 109 East 17th St., Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Willie Guy Gibson and Grace Johnson Gibson. She was a graduate of Hay Long High School and had been employed as a waitress at Western Sizzlin Restaurant. Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Richard Dean Reed, Sr. of Columbia; a daughter, Cammey (Torey) Kelley of Culleoka; three sons, Ricky (Jamie) Reed and Tony (Kathy) Helmick both of Columbia, Jamie (Ann) Reed of Culleoka; two brothers Melvin Gibson of Mt. Joy, Hal (Betty) Gibson of Columbia; 9 grandchildren, Kirby Reed, Katy Reed, Kinley Reed all of Columbia, Leah Kelley, Jacob Kelley, Hunter Reed, Emerald Reed, Skyler Reed all of Culleoka; and Shonda Davis of Murfreesboro. She was preceded in death by a son, David Reed; twin sister, Eva Crock; and three brothers, Leonard Gibson, Charlie Gibson and Willard Gibson. Pallbearers will be Steve Carroll, Derrick Carroll, Mike Gibson, Travis Ketchum, David Reed, Danny Gibson, Larry Gibson and Charles McGaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C. Houston Jameson, Allen Scudder, employees of Western Sizzlin, employees of Kroger Pharmacy, oncology nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center, and members of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
