MRS. WILLIAM H. "BILL" SIMMONSMrs. Helen Jerine Davis Simmons, 82, former resident of Brannon Court and retired waitress Berlin's Restaurant and The Country Kitchen, died Friday, April 18, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will be in the Sheboss Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Ulna Davis and Lillie Jerine Howell Davis and a member of the Highland Church of Christ.She was married May 20, 1967 to William H. "Bill" Simmons who died May 1, 2000.Survivors include a sister, Lillian (Norman) Poe of Morrow, Ohio; a granddaughter whom she reared, Paula (Porter) Alexander of Columbia; two nieces, Bette (Mack) Liggett of Columbia and Pat Clifton of Bon Aqua; a special friend, Fay Hartsfield of Columbia; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and step-children.She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Davis and three sisters, Doris Adcock, Marie Gunnels and Dorothy Sanders.Active pallbearers are Mark Liggett, Scott Liggett, Jeffery Liggett, Bill Love, Porter Alexander, Ed Sanders, Pete Bradford and Donald Briggs. Honorary pallbearers include Elders and Deacons of Highland Church of Christ, Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Andy Sisk, Dr. Moatz Toban, Marie Lineburger, Tammy Watson and Marie Haskins.
