Henry Blocker

MR. HENRY BLOCKER Mr. Henry Alvin Blocker, 83, retired farmer, died Monday, August 5, 2002, at his residence on Bailey Street. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ocy Baxter and Joe Mason officiating. Burial will be in Morrow Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. The Hampshire Community native was the son of the late Ocy Alvin Blocker and Nina Grace Bishop Blocker. He wa a member of Southpoint Church of Christ. Survivors include three brothers, Richard (Faye) Blocker of Columbia, Willis Blocker and Willard Blocker both of Hampshire; two sisters, Clarice Bradley of Columbia, Virginia Clay of River Rouge, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ella Brown Thomason, Gladys Baxter, Annie Mai Blocker and one brother, John Wesley Blocker. Pallbearers will be Ricky Dunn, Bryan Dunn, John Ray Dotson, Todd Baxter, Brad Blocker, Tommy Dunn, Ray Dotson and Thomas Runions. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Southpoint Church of Christ.
