Mr. Henry Harmon Delk, 95, retired from Monsanto Company, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at his residence on Baker Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols with Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was son of the late Dan Delk and Eunice Church Delk. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University for two years. Mr. Delk taught at Fountain Heights School for two years prior to working in the Maintenance Department at Monsanto Company for forty years. He was a long-time member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. His wife, Elyse Patton Delk, died December 16, 1996. Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Hayes of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Delk in June, 1987; two sisters, Eunice Miller and Betsy Morrow; and three brothers, Ken Delk, Jack Delk, and Jake Delk. Active pallbearers are his nephews, Collett Delk, Greg Hayes, Larry Delk, Tom Patton, Kenny Shropshire, Wayne Morrow, Billy Morrow, Jimmy Morrow, Jack Miller, Jerry Miller, and Ross Delk. Honorary pallbearers include retired Monsanto employees and men of West Seventh Street Church of Christ.
