HERBERT GALE WALLER Herbert Gale Waller, 83, retired steel fitter, locksmith, and resident of Lemon Grove, California, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at Grossmont Sharp Hospital in La Mesa, California. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. at Concord Cemetery with Rev. Charles Blythe officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Nebraska native was the son of the late Earl Waller and Florence Audiss Waller. He was first married to Louise Adams Steward Waller who preceded him on January 1, 1972; and later he married Anna Mae Abercrombie Waller of Lemon Grove, California. Mr. Waller was a former resident of Maury County. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in LaMesa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Vida Gail of Portland, Oregon; ten stepchildren, Jerry Melheim of Algona, Washington; Clifford Melheim, of Tempe, Arizona; Ronald Melheim and Kenneth Melheim, both of Port Townsend, Washington; Cheryl McGaw and Greg Melheim, both of Columbia; Michael Melheim of Lemon Grove, California; Rebecca Duke of Nashville; Thomas Melheim of Encinitas, California; Patricia Deaton of Vancouver, Washington; twenty step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
