Hester Lee Truett King

Hester Lee Truett King, 79, resident of Leatherwood Road in Hickman County, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bobby Kelley and Donnie King officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Hickman County. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Samuel Truett and Lucy McFarland Truett. She was a long-time member of Jones Valley Church of Christ. She was married February 2, 1952 to Buford King. Mr. King died July 8, 2005. Survivors include a sister, Giva Mae Truett King of Williamsport; nephews, Sam King, Roger Truett, Billy Truett, Tommy Truett, and Jimmy Truett; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her dog, "Blackie." She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Truett Baker and brothers, Ralph Truett and Joe Truett. Active pallbearers are Roger Truett, Dustin Truett, Billy Truett, Tommy Truett, Byron Steward, Jerry Davis, and Ronnie King. Members of Jones Valley Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
