Hildon Everett Rutledge, 87, retired salesman with Charles C. Parks Company and resident of Second Avenue, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1106 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN 38401. He was a former employee of Columbia Mill & Elevator. Mr. Rutledge was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Lydia Marguerite Thornton Rutledge of Columbia; nephews, Fred R. Wix, Maxie Wix, Harold Wix, Jerry Wix, Jimmy Wix, David Wix, Kenneth Thomas, Leon Thornton; nieces, Shirley F. Wix Carter, Barbara Wix Smith, Melba Wix Carter, Peggy Wix Fannin; and two sisters-in-law, Rosemary McCormick and Wanda Burnette Thomas. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Thomas, G.W. Miller, Larry Cheatham, Tom Croft, Ronnie Flippo, Bob Brooks and Jack Barron. Honorary pallbearers will be the congregation of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
