Hollis Morton

Mr. Chester Hollis Morton, 87, retired construction worker and former resident of Witherspoon Road, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols. Burial will be in Morton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8p.m. at the funeral home. He had been employed as a heavy equipment operator with TVA and John Uptain Construction. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Morton of Columbia; four sons, Chester Henry Morton of Culleoka, Jerry Fred Morton and Johny Ray Morton both of Columbia; Jimmy Allen Morton of Williamsport; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Hicks of Tampa, FL; four brothers, James Paul Morton, Mack Morton, Eugene Morton all of Nashville, Frank Morton of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shane Morton, Steve Morton, Timmy Ray Morton and Freddie Morton.
