Homer Brown

Homer Brown, 88, farmer, died Monday, October 31, 2022 at his residence in Columbia. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, November 11, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend William Owens officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 24, 1934 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Jessie Buford “Dude” Brown and the late Mary Wiley Brown. In August 1953, he married Annie May Collins Brown who preceded him in death December 16, 2006. Earlier in life Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing and frog gigging. He spent many hours working on engines and loved tractors. Survivors include his son, Homer Brown, Jr. of Summertown; daughter, Mary Ann Bolton of Summertown; grandson, Larry Gene Brown, Jr. of Spring Hill; daughter-in-law, Doris Ashworth Brown of Columbia; and great grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Logan Styres, Alyssa Brown, and Grace Brown. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Gene Brown, Sr. in 2018; great grandson, Damien Brown in June 2003; and sister, Alice May Brown.
