Mr. Homer Lee Haskin, 92, retired self-employed carpenter and farmer, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at his residence on the Mooresville Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The Maury County native was the son of the late Bud Haskin and Mary Smith Haskin. He served in the U. S. Army 31st Infantry Division during World War II and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Haskin was a long-time member of Highland Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Lennie Tice Haskin of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Charles Davis, Chip Davis, Athel Hickman, Bill Tice, Randall Hickman, Bud Haskin and Ray Cherry. Elders and Deacons of Highland Church of Christ, Devin Farmer, Kevin Williams, Blairanne Farmer Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Farmer, Gary Farmer, Jr., Leon Walters, Todd Prince, James Prince, Mrs. George Taylor, George Horne, Skip and Debra Wagar, Bob and Tiny Jones, friends and neighbors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
