HOWARD POTTS, SR. William Howard Potts, Sr., 76, electrician and former employee of Columbia Power System and resident of Scott Hollow Road in Culleoka, died Friday, September 13, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Rush officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Maury A. Potts and Clare Mai Potts Potts. He was married to Sara Jane Allen Potts who died July 28, 1992. Mr. Potts served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was also a member of Electrical Workers Local Union 429 in Nashville. Survivors include one son, William Howard "Bill" Potts, Jr. of Culleoka; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth (Charles) Eaton of Columbia; one brother, Raymond "Bud" (Jean) Potts of Columbia; and five grandchildren, Desiree Potts, Erik Potts, Rebecca Potts, Trey Potts, III, and Cameron Potts, all of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Johnson; and one brother, Haston Potts. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Potts, Michael McLaughlin, Charles Eaton, Erik Potts, Royce Collins, and Harlan Potts.
