View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Hyman Frank, 89, resident of Owen Avenue, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Poore officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Arcola, Mississippi he was the son of the late Jacob Frank and Jenny Stein Frank. He was a 1940 graduate of Hay Long High School. He served in the Army Air Corps as a medic during World War II, earned the Good Conduct Medal and crossed the Atlantic Ocean on the Queen Elizabeth without an escort. Mr. Frank was a member of American Legion Post 10 in Mt. Pleasant. In 1933 his family came to Mt. Pleasant and opened T. Frank's Clothing which he still owned and operated until his death. He enjoyed listening to music especially The Chuck Wagon Gang and Lawrence Welk. November 19, 2009 was declared Hyman Frank Day in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Frank was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Grace Poore Frank of Columbia; cousins, Morton Stein of Franklin, Carolyn Berman of Great Neck, N.Y., Jean Stoloff of Livingston, N.J., Sidney Stein of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mose Frank and sister, Tillie Frank. Pallbearers will be Mike Pruitt, Jeff Knox, Tom Colvert, Phillip Crews, Scotty Nance, Jimmy Hughes, Danny Lasater, Charlie Rash and Lee Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Pugh, Jim Bailey, Charles Brewer, Austin Brewer, Don Norman, Steve Thomason, James Cox, Hollis Carpenter, Jimmy Fann, Charles Webster, David Rash, Billy Martin, Charlie Riddle, Doug Moss, Wendell Lasater, Ken Mainard, Jim Putman, Tim Anderson, Joe Huckaby, Andy Hunter, Tom Shacklett, Bill Mabry, Doug Williams, Darrell Williams, Dr. Cummins Couch, C.W. Ball, Wayne Everett, Joe Bedwell, Donald Paul, David Greenfield, Joe Nance, Wayne Lovell, Tilman Knox, Mike Tyler, Mike Holden, J.B. Long, Howard Norman, Leroy Norman, Bob Shackleford, Cecil Duncan, Jim Hamilton, II, Brent Gobble, Elders of Graymere Church of Christ and 1940 Graduating Class of Hay Long High School.
