Imogene Goats Casteel, 89, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Cottages at Brushy Creek in Greer, South Carolina.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Wayne Ashford, pastor of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service. The family will visit with family and friends Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of Leroy and Effie Maude Goats. She was married for more than 60 years to the late Mason Lee Casteel and always called Columbia, Tennessee home even after relocating in 2003 to live with her son in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She was a former employee of the May Hosiery Mill in Lawrenceburg and Columbia and last worked at Weather Tamer in Columbia. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church.Survivors include her son, Aubrey Gene Casteel of Lenoir City; daughter Carolyn Sue Healea of West Palm Beach, Florida; son, Michael Ray Casteel of Simpsonville, South Carolina; daughter, Pamela Casteel Mathis of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; sister, Ruth Sprouse of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Joyce Brooks of Elkmont, Alabama; Brother-in-law, Bob Brooks of Elkmont, Alabama; Brother-in-law, Walter D. Schultz of Chattanooga; Son-in-Law, Roy Healea of West Palm Beach, Florida; Daughter-in-Law, Sherry Casteel of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Son-in-Law, Don Mathis of West Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Granddaughter, Susan Howell of Lenoir City and husband Bart; Granddaughter, Dawn Adams of Bluffton, South Carolina and husband John; Grandson, Daryl Healea of Boston, Massachusetts and wife Rose; Granddaughter, Jennifer Terlizzi of Greenville, South Carolina and husband Michael; Grandson, Christopher Casteel of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Grandson, Kevin Mathis of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Grandson, Cory Mathis of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Great-granddaughter, Bethany Adams of Nashville; Great-grandson, Christian Adams of Bluffton, South Carolina; Great-granddaughter, Alexandria Adams of Bluffton, South Carolina; Great-granddaughter, Madison Howell of Lenoir City; Great-grandson, Jonathan Adams of Bluffton, South Carolina; Great-grandson, Bane Adams of Bluffton, South Carolina; Great-grandson, Aiden Healea of Boston, Massachusetts; and Great-granddaughter, Julia Healea of Boston, Massachusetts; eighteen nieces and twenty-two nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Lee Casteel; sisters Leada Marie McGee, Clarice May Payne, Alsace Lorraine Schultz, and Mary Ellen Thompson; brothers James Loyd Goats and Leroy Goats; Daughter-in-law, Judith Casteel. Honorary Pallbearers: Walter D. Schultz, Bob Brooks, Lee Schultz, Bayne Adams, Kenneth Casteel.Pallbearers will be Bart Howell, Daryl Healea, Christopher Casteel, Kevin Mathis, Christian Adams, and Cory Mathis.
