Ina Lorene Gordon Doggett, 91, died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at her residence in Columbia. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Mike Williams officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 8, 1930 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Tolbert Gordon and the late Bertha Slaughter Gordon Comperry. On May 17, 1947, she married William Floyd Doggett, Jr. who preceded her in death March 8, 1994. Mrs. Doggett was a seamstress for Storktown and Weather Tamer for many years and retired as bookkeeper for Consumer’s Gas Station. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, growing flowers, and working in her vegetable garden. Above all she loved spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Doggett was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Farlow of Columbia; Pamela (William) Buckner of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Thomas (Linda) Gordon of Santa Fe; Garry (Jan) Gordon of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Harley Wheeler Naquin, Laura Wheeler Canady, Bianca Buckner (Wesley) Cherry, Alex Farlow; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, William Jared Buckner; sister, Sara Jane Griffin; and grandson-in-law, Randy Canady.
